The Floor of A Shed

We know that when our customers are looking for a quality built storage shed they want something that will give years of satisfaction along with being an added attraction to their landscape.  When shopping for a quality built utility shed it pays the customer to look deeper than just the buildings outside appearance.

One of the important things to look for when purchasing a storage building is the floor of the shed and what is supporting it.  A good sturdy floor is a big part of what gives a storage building the quality that you want.  It is very disappointing to purchase a shed and then in a couple of years find that the floor is starting to sag where you have been parking your riding lawn mower or your 4-wheeler.

At Goods Garden Shed's we want to have satisfied customers and strive to build a shed that will not let our customers down. The base of the sheds we build that are 10’ wide or wider we use five 4x4 runners. These runners help to support the floor along with the way we block up underneath when we deliver and set up a shed.  The floor joists are 2x4’s that are 16” on center. For a 14’ wide storage shed we use 2x6 floor joist. Any  garage style shed that we build, the 2x6 floor joist’s are placed 12” on center giving the garage a strong enough floor for a vehicle or small tractor.  All the lumber that we use under the actual floor is pressure treated lumber. For the floor itself we use 5/8” exterior grade plywood.

When you are in the market for a new storage building we hope you consider checking out our sheds at Goods Garden Shed’s. Our sheds are open for you to look at anytime. We welcome you to even look underneath and see what is there! We would also be happy to build a storage shed to your specifications with you picking out the colors you want and deciding where you want the double doors and the windows placed.  Also look us up on the web at www.goodsgardensheds.com and see our complete shed inventory that we have on the lot and the current prices.  We welcome your calls at 434-665-1469.
